Repeater is the band who's singer is also fronting Munky's solo/side project titled 'Fear And The Nervous System'. Listen below for the latest offering from Steve Krolikowski's band Repeater.
Are you ready to live and holding all these lies still get me deep lol. damm jd what did you have to pass your anger on me through your great music LOL.
Sup? I've been listening to the new album LOudly too! I love KoRn III! I wouldn't say it...if I DIDN'T MEAN IT! I"m No One's Ass Licker ...cus that is just eww!
I just got home and i feel like this.... but anyways just wanted to say korns cool, listened to them loud today, i feel i rarely do that anymore, so it felt nice
good evening, tired of doing errands today so now i just want to lay down, watch tv and listen to a little bit of korn..pop a wankk..eh i mean pill pop a pill lol
What can you tell us about the disc and are you going to perform a song from the new album tonight?
Fieldy: Yeah we finished the new Korn album and we did take it back to the roots. We got in the studio with Ross Robinson, which did the first two Korn albums - really brought us back to where we need to be, we love it. It's not quite ready to play anything new tonight, maybe next time, but it's done and it's ready.
How is the relationship between Korn and the fans?
Munky:We've always had a tight relationship with our fans, we always want to include them in contests or anything that we do, making setlists and we always want to give them a good show and they give us a lot of adrenaline back to return that.
The first two albums of Korn had a lot of elements of hip hop, Issues and Follow the Leader had a lot of orchestration stuff, what can the fans expect from this new Korn album, Korn III?
Munky: I think there's a lot of hip hop influence throughout Korn's music through the years, I think that's just part of our sound, but I think from what we've learned throughout the years of recording - you know, orchestrations, the melodies that we really develop musically - I think we brought that to this album with the rawness of the old albums. So, the more melodic stuff of the more recent albums and the rawness of the old albums, I think kind of combine those two together and that's what you're going to hear on the Korn III album.
Ray:Personally, the reason I like what we're doing with the new record is because it's very organic, we didn't use click tracks, it was all four of us in a small room just rocking out and writing stuff. So to me compared to all the music that's out today, it's a little too perfect to me, it's a little too fixed, so I really like the fact that we went back to the organic, just rocking out, just all passionate feeling.
The nu-metal came out of the underground and became massive, do you think there is any style right now that could do the same thing that nu-metal did in the 90s?
Munky: No.
(Munky, Fieldy and Ray laugh)
Munky:I don't know, it's hard to say, who could predict what people are going to latch on to and listen to? It's hard to say, I don't know.
What is the most important thing that you recollect from your sixteen years of your career, being in a band that is fairly one of the most known bands of the metal scene, what's the biggest recollection or achievement for you?
Munky:I think for me it's probably going around the world, touching our fans with our music, letting them have some sort of a release from everyday life.
Do you see some difference between the fans back then and your current fans?
Munky:I think, there's the hardcore fans that have been with us for the whole sixteen years, I think it's cool because now we're seeing the same fans bring their children to our shows which is really cool, so they're introducing a whole new generation and they're getting to know our old records with the family, which is really cool. So yeah, they're younger. (laughs)
What are your thoughts about our country?
Munky:It's beautiful, I like the weather, the people are obviously nice, and you guys have a lot of traffic, it's like LA.
(crowd laughs)
Korn in the beginning had a lot of anger in their music, are you doing that right now for the new Korn III as well?
Munky:Well, the music that we wrote was all from a passionate place with a lot of energy. The vocals that Jonathan did do - they're very angry, he's had some new torments I guess that he's singing about, and it transposes really on the new record. When you hear the album, you'll hear the new Korn anger, it's back.
